Grandma Suzy drove us home from Cedar City to stay with us for the week before Livy's wedding. They babysat the kids while Paul and I went on an early anniversary date. We went rafting on the Weber river and it was so fun! They had a photographer on the shore and we bought a few of her pictures. I rode on the front of the raft for one of the rapids and that was a blast! I got drenched but I didn't fall off. After rafting we went to In N Out and to the movies. It was the funnest day. Happy 8th Anniversary! It's been a great 8 years.
We spent the rest of the week busy with wedding preparations! Mom and I made an eternal marriage countdown chain for Olivia. She had to promise to take a link off each day and do what it says. Too funny! My favorite day was whenever anyone said "JP" she had to spank herself and yell out "yeah baby!" She did a great job. I have an awesome video of her prank calling an ex-boyfriend.
We also made lots of food for the reception and boutonnieres and set up the reception venue.
It's not a Braden party without loads of fresh salsa.
This is my favorite one. Olivia is busy setting up and Jessi is just dancing solo in the back. Ha ha! She was so much help though and so fun to have around too!
I loved how the tables looked!
Our most important preparation was taking Olivia to the temple to receive her endowment. It was a special day. I loved being in the temple with my little sister. I've been looking forward to it since I got my own endowment.
I couldn't take as many pictures as I wanted for the wedding day but my cousin Samantha was the photographer and I know she got everything! Between taking care of the kids and helping with the reception I just couldn't take as many photos. I want to put more of Sam's pictures in our journal later, but here are a few I took.
It was such a happy day. You could see the happiness in her face. What a wonderful couple!
Jessi came over bright and early and did everyone's makeup! Then the bride and groom and Mother headed to the temple early while the rest of us finished getting ready. Jessi and Sam watched the kids while we were in the temple. The temple ceremony was perfect. The sealer talked about the spirit of Elijah and how it testifies of the divinity of the family. He explained the covenant of marriage and sealed them for time and all eternity.
It was fun to be in the temple on our anniversary and remember that special day. It really was the most perfect day! I'm so glad Olivia's was beautiful too. Your wedding day is a day to remember for the rest of your life.
Susanna was thrilled to be the flower girl! I tried to explain to her that in a temple wedding the "flower girl" is mostly an honorary title but she wouldn't have any of it. She insisted on tossing flowers somewhere. So I found a basket and some left over rose petals and she tossed them in the back of the reception hall. She was ecstatic. It's the little things. The kids watched the new couples first dance and then had some fun dancing with daddy.
July 26, 2016 Congratulations Olivia and Jean-Pierre!
Susanna starts school in three weeks! I can't believe it! We are all so excited for her. We went on a fun back to school date. First we went to the mall and had Chick Fil A for lunch. Then we went to Claires and bought a best friends necklace so when she is at school we can both still remember we are always going to be best friends (tear). Then we went to Walmart and bought all the supplies on her school list. We bought her a few more polos for school too. She is going to look so adorable in her school uniform!
We had a half birthday and a 3rd birthday this month! Clark turned 6 months old last week. He is such a smiley baby. He wakes up around 6, naps from 8-10:30, and takes another nap around 12:30-3. Then he goes to bed about 7:30. Sometimes he needs a little cat nap before bed. He is eating solid food twice a day and quite likes pears. He has also tried squash and sweet potatoes and peaches and oatmeal cereal. He doesn't usually sleep through the night without waking up once or twice, but when he does he usually goes back to sleep after I give him his binky back. He probably gets about 1000 kisses a day. We all love him to pieces.
This boy turned 3 today! Braden has my whole heart. He also is the one who drives me the most crazy. Oh the irony. He loves to snuggle and give kisses. He can throw pretty good fits and doesn't obey very well. He hits and bits and refuses to try and go potty and spends lots of time in time-out. He loves playing cars and building legos with dad and fighting with light sabers. For his birthday he wanted hamburgers for lunch (because that is Daddy's favorite and he loves to be like Dad) and pasta for dinner. I don't know what I'd do without this adorable 3 year old boy! He makes me laugh everyday!
