4th of July 2016

I love the 4th of July! There were fireworks going off every night for a week in our neighborhood. Which I wouldn't have loved so much if they woke my kids up every night, but luckily they didn't! I loved watching them in our front yard or out the window while I cleaned the kitchen.

We went to the West Point city parade that morning because you can't beat a small town parade. I told the kids that people throw candy to the children who wave at them so Susie waved the entire parade. My arm would have been so tired! But it payed off because they came home with loads of salt water taffy which was delicious! I love how much little kids enjoy parades. It's simple but so fun. Such good memories!

We've been playing outside when it isn't too hot. Susie thought sparklers were pretty fun, but Braden wasn't as excited.

We had a 4th of July BBQ with our friends, the Fieldens. We ate BBQ chicken and potato salad and watermelon and rice krispy treats. We lit more sparklers and the kids swam in the little pool in our backyard.

We tried to wake the kids up to show them some fireworks outside our house later that night, but they wouldn't be stirred. So Paul and I sat in the driveway and enjoyed them ourselves. Ahhh It seemed like everyone on our street bought fireworks, and they were good too! We had a great 4th of July celebration! We feel so blest to live in the USA!
