We had a epic first week of April. So much fun and excitement, not to mention great counsel from our church leaders.
To prepare ourselves for Easter we read a scripture each night of the week leading up to Easter and learned about Christ's last week in mortality. We started this tradition last year and it's my favorite.
We also did an Easter egg hunt and Easter baskets on Saturday. So much fun!
My mom got lucky with Saturday morning conference sessions. We thought the solemn assembly was in the afternoon session and we were so excited when we realized it was the morning session! What a neat experience. I felt the Holy Ghost whisper to my spirit that this was Christ's true church and that He had chosen Russell M. Nelson to lead it at this time.
We enjoyed watching conference at home as well. I learned so much and have enjoyed listening to the talks over. A few things I took away from conference was to develop the Christlike quality of meekness, the sacrifice more time to family history and temple work, and to minister as the Savior did.
We had some fun coloring pages and treats for this kids.
On Easter Sunday, between sessions, we dyed Easter eggs and had Easter dinner at Aunt Sarah's house. I made mom's lemon torte recipe which needs to be a yearly thing now because it was heaven. We put up our last picture of the resurrected Savior for our Easter wall and the kids sang Gethsemane for Grandma Suzy.
I have been so excited for Spring Break, to have Susie home, but also to have my mom come and visit! We kicked off Spring break by setting up the tramp again. The kids were beyond excited and jump on it every moment of the day they can.
Mom watched the kids for my birthday while Paul and I went on a fun date. We went out to breakfast, mini golfing, and to the movies. We came home and the kids had made me a cute poster and sang me happy birthday. I might have cried a little, haha, pregnancy. Paul made us all dinner and we had a fun night at home.
We had lots more fun the rest of the week with Grandma Suzy! We went to the mall and got a pretzel (and some lotion from Bath and Body).
We drove to Preston to visit Grandma and Grandpa Garbett.
We went to Antelope Island and explored the Great Salt Lake. It was really cool!
Mom and I did some shopping..
It was so nice to get to spend some quality time with her. We also did some crafts, played dress-up, and built a fort. *Sigh* Spring break was my favorite.
