Olivia and JP stopped at our house for a day right before Easter. We watched the 10 Commandments with Charelton Heston, as is tradition in our house. This was a tradition when I was growing up. Jesus held the Last Supper with His disciples the night He suffered in Gethsemane. The Last Supper was held to commentate the Passover. They celebrated the Passover to remember how Lord spared the children of Israel in Eygpt before they were led out of captivity. It might be a stretch for an Easter tradition, but we like it! We also dyed Easter eggs. JP had never dyed eggs before! It was really fun having them over.
We started a new tradition this year. I printed some Easter pictures off and we read a scripture each day as we put our picture up. We learned about different events during the last week of the Savior's life. One of our family resolutions this year was to memorize a scripture together each month. For April we memorized, "He is not here, but is risen. Remember how He spake unto you when He was yet in Galilee, saying, the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and the third day rise again." Luke 24: 6-7
Here are pictures of our Easter baskets and egg hunt. The kids always look forward to searching for eggs around the house.
Susie drew this sweet picture of Jesus and the tomb at church on Sunday. Happy Easter! He is Risen!
