We had a fun Independence Day. My cousin Cayla got married the Friday after the 4th so my mom and sister and brother in law came for the holiday too. We had a lot of fun.
We went to the West Point city parade. I've been going to this parade since I was a kid because it's the same one we went to when we drove from California to visit family in the summer. The kids collected a lot of salt water taffy, yum!
We had a 4th of July breakfast at Aunt Sarah's house after the parade. We spent awhile at her house hanging out and playing volleyball.
We wanted to have some water fun on the 4th but the weather was too chilly. It was rainy and windy and a little stormy. The kids got to swim in our little pool for a minute before the clouds rolled in. We had a delicious BBQ with steak and chicken and corn on the cob and potato salad and cherries and vegis.
The next day we went canoeing/ kayaking in the Adams reservoir. We got sandwiches from Jimmy Johns and had a great time.
Cayla's wedding was really nice also. She had a candy bar at her reception so the kids were in heaven. At least until I told them, no more candy! We had a fun week spending time with family and celebrating.
