We loved celebrating Father's Day. My favorite thing to do on Mother's or Father's Day is to have the kids answer questions about us. They always have the best answers and those are keepsakes for sure. We made Dad some of his favorite things, sausage and pancakes for breakfast and meatloaf with sweet potatoes for dinner. The kids and I had fun picking out a few presents for him (and wrapping them up in leftover Christmas wrapping..) Paul had to work on Father's Day, which was a bummer, but we made up for it the next day. We designated Monday, Father's Day OFF. Paul went to the movies and we did some fun things together. Paul is the best friend and companion, I don't know what I would do without him.
We just love the summer. We play with friends outside everyday and have enjoyed just relaxing and doing some fun things. We have a little summer schedule we look forward to.
Make it Mondays:
My kids love crafts so they always look forward to picking out the next project. Most of the time they are ripped or broken by the end of the day!
Time to Read Tuesdays:
Braden and Susie listen and follow along so well during story time. Meanwhile I am chasing Clark around the library trying to keep him from pulling dozens of books off the shelves..
Where to Go Wednesdays:
We've been to the park, splash pad, out for lunch, and visited friends houses. One friend even let us play with their brand new puppies. Susie and Clark fell in love fast. I was feeling pretty guilty for not letting them have a dog. They were so adorable I was almost persuaded!
Thoughtful Thursdays:
We've tried to think of something nice we can do for others when we can, too. We sent a summer fun package to some friends in Arizona. We've made cookies for our neighbors and had friends over to play.
FUN Fridays!
Fridays usually mean homemade pizza and a movie. We had some other fun Fridays too. Last Friday we had a water ballon/ water gun fight with the neighbor kids. There's a little girl that lives a few houses down that Susie just loves. Her name is Kenslie. They both wore jumpers yesterday and wanted a picture.
Here are a few other photos of late. I went on a fun day trip, fishing with my brother, to Mirror Lake. It was beautiful up there. I just don't want this summer to end!
