We decided to throw a Harry Potter party for Paul's 29th birthday (whew- he's getting old!) We invited his siblings and their families and they were the perfect group for the event. They love Harry Potter as much as we do! It was fun to get decorations and games and treats ready.
Here's a look at some of the cool decor. The floating candle ceiling was my favorite!
We prepared some yummy Harry Potter-y food. I was really excited to do Hagrid's cake because I knew it could look bad and still be great! Finally a no-stress birthday cake!
We played a few games, too. One was just looking for the hidden snitch. Willow found it! We played another game where everyone got a label with a character's name from the books. You had to ask questions to figure out who you were. Paul was the only one who couldn't figure his out! But I gave him the hardest one :)
For the last game, everyone drew out of the "sorting hat" to determine what house they were in. Then each house took turns answering Harry Potter trivia questions. I'll tell you- these people know their stuff!! I had to ask some of the hardest questions I found online. Ravenclaw won!
It was a lot of fun hanging out with everyone and it really made his birthday special. Paul has a great family and I'm so glad we live closer to some of them so we can see them more often!
How fun are you! I loved this and sometime we'll have to have a Harry Potter off between Paul and Jacob. I think it could be pretty good!
